Finish Number 2! I am on a roll.
My nephew's quilt is finished. I have thoroughly enjoyed making this quilt. My first attempt at circles. Easy when you search as many tutorials as possible.
The photos do not do the colours in this quilt justice. There was too much sun on the day they were taken.
I am so happy with how the finished quilt looks. It is 84x72 inches and has 144 lines of quilting and many of my MIL fabrics. That was the deal, to make a quilt for this little man with his granma's fabrics as she is no longer here to make it herself.
I quilted it on my little old Bernina 1010. Getting it through the machine throat was a challenge at times but to be able to say I completed the whole quilt makes it so worth the effort.
This quilt is for him to wrap himself in our love. It was a pleasure to make.
Woohoo another finish from the Finish Along Quarter 1 list. Finish Along Q1 List
Happy Stitching

Your nephew is a lucky boy ! You put so much love in it, also because you put granma's fabrics in it. I like it a lot and the colors are warm and brilliant ! I love how you put the circles. There's one on my list too, also a first attempt with circles. I found the tutorial in a quilt magazine and I'm really excited to start the project soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Good luck with your quilt. I found the Running in Circles tutorial at Crazy Mom Quilts blog and used that for guidance. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow. I hope you enjoy making your quilt.
